Abigail's First Christmas-Just happy to be home!

Abigail was home for her first Christmas. We were very thankful just to be home, and get to spend some time with family. Abigail, daddy, mommie and grammie had a wonderful time, just spending it together.

My First Christmas Bear from Shawanda!

They gave us this huge stocking at the hospital since she was there so close to Christmas, so we tried to take a picture of her in it. She didn't like that too much!

More Pictures

Hey everyone this is Ashley. I will try to post as many pictures as I possibly can here, so everyone can get a glimpse of our little miracle. This has truly been the best Christmas! I am so thankful for all of the blessings that the Lord has given to us, however undeserving, He is so great, and I am truly thankful! It is so good to be home now after our extended stay at the hospital. Abby was actually discharged before I was, due to the fact that I had pneumonia. But praise God we are home, and have been spending some wonderful time with our new little family. I told Samual that I was thankful for all of his posts, but people want to see more pictures. And more of the baby...lol so I will try to oblige, and put what I can on here.

I just love all of her different faces, she makes some of the funniest ones. I still can't figure out who she looks more like, and they change so much over time. I think she looks more like her daddy and acts like her momma. So, we'll need much prayer...lol

Here in here little layette.

Funny face. They were taking her blood pressure. (See the tiny cuff there on her leg) She wasn't too happy when they messed with her though.

Chubby Cheeks

Streching that neck, she can already lift her head up pretty well by herself. She's kind of stubborn that way.

Merry JESUSmas

Sam Writing:

Merry JESUSmas everybody. Well, the Christmas tree was empty this year. In fact, there was no tree at all. But yet we got the best little present anyone could ever ask for. It's a little weird this time of year that while we're suppose to be celebrating the birth of Jesus we tend to focus more on us than HIM. People say "Happy Birthday Jesus" out of one side of their mouth and "give ME a present" out of the other. But alas, let us always remember that it is simply not just "A way in the manger" but it's "THE way in the manger." I hope everyone has a great day today and please enjoy these Christmas pics of Abigail along with a few others thrown in. God Bless!

Finally Home

Sam Writing:
Well, it has been an eventful week. I was going to call this post "Sleep...Where Art Thou?" but decided that being home outweighed any sleep deprivation we are suffering from. I will say this concerning sleep, in the Marine Corps I got accustomed to operating on five hours of sleep a night but I found that broken sleep does not count. My body hates being woken up every hour. It's also worth being mentioned that sleep derivation is used as a means of torture! But alas, we are home and so excited to have our little girl in her new environment. I think that Sugar (our min pin dog) and Mr Jingles (our cat) are not quit sure what to make of this little addition that is taking away all their attention. It really is good to be home and we appreciate all the prayers that went up for Ashley. For those that don't know Ashley was diagnosed with pneumonia after the pregnancy which resulted in her not being able to leave the hospital for a few days but as the song says "I'll Be Home For Christmas!"

Momma still in the hospital holding Abigail.

Abigail with her mouth opened. She gets that honest from both of her parents.

Little Feet!

That Sea Horse was a gift from our friends the Coburns and it has been a life saver. It glows and plays music along with water noise and Abigail seems to be soothed by it.

This is Abigail about to make her first appearance out into the world. She had her first doctor's visit today and since momma was still in the hospital daddy took her all by himself. It was a great experience and Abigail was so good for daddy only crying when they weighed her.
