Lovely Day

It was so beautiful outside today, and after Sam was through at work this morning, and after I finished up with my work at the church, we got some outside stuff done at the house. Here is a picture of the screen porch. Sam built it on last summer. We grilled some chicken for dinner. I planted some flowers in the front yard at the mailbox. We got a new mailbox, and I planted some strawberries & blueberries. I've never done fruit plants before and am interested to see how well they do. I have been cooped up in the house for over a week now, because I had surgery, and really really wanted to get out of the house today. So Sam asked if I wanted to go to the zoo. So it turned out to be a fun little day today with my hunny. We went to the Alexandria Zoo, then went to TCBY for some frozen yogurt, and then back to the house for some R&R listening to a Louis L'amour dramatized audio book, and then Sam took me to Robbie G's for some crawfish and catfish, which I probably shouldn't have been eating but they were soooo good :) yum! And then we just rode around Alexandria for a little bit looking at some of the Big houses that they had out there. It was fun, and now we are at home relaxing and I'm updating the blog. I got a few pictures from today. So I thought I would share. It's the first time we really have had to spend together because we've been super busy, and I've been so sick. He's so sweet!
Ready to eat some crawfish! They are still pretty expensive right now, so we are going to have to wait until they go down in price to do this again, but they were soo good! :)


Mmmmm, he can put down some serious mudbugs...not bad for a Carolina Boy! :)

It was just good to get out of the house for a little while! And I probably really needed the excercise.

Us planning where we were going to start off...it's not a very big zoo, but it was such a beautiful day so we couldn't pass it up, and Sam had never been before.
